ShortcutsPay - Setting up Afterpay on Terminal
Afterpay functions on Stripe Terminal by utilising virtual contactless cards, which customers add to their mobile wallets (such as Apple Pay or Google Pay). This article covers how to activate Afterpay for use on your ShortcutsPay Terminal - Powered by Stripe.
Supported Countries: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.
How to activate Afterpay for your Stripe Terminals
Afterpay is activated in one of two ways depending on if you already have an existing Afterpay merchant account, or you are signing up to Afterpay for the first time.
Activation steps: If you have an existing Afterpay merchant account.If you already have a Afterpay account, you will need to complete the following online request form. https://afterpay.formstack.com/forms/global_merchant_technical_support Please select the following options when completing the request form: What brand is your request for? Afterpay/Clearpay - In-Store Merchant ID (MID)? Enter your afterpay merchant ID What in-store category best describes your request? Activation steps: If you are signing up to use Afterpay for the first time (new merchant account)If you do not already have an Afterpay merchant account you must first register for one. Sign up here: https://get.afterpay.com/app/.After registering for an Afterpay Merchant account, look for an automated email from Afterpay with the subject line “Afterpay Card is ready for you to set up”. This email contains initial directions to complete a test transaction. Check your junk mail folder if you can't find this email. You can finalise activation through one of two methods: OPTION 1: Test Transaction Method: Complete the test transaction as outlined in the onboarding email you have received from Afterpay. This action automatically supplies Afterpay with the details they need to activate Afterpay on your Stripe Terminals. OPTION 2 : Manual Information Submission: If you operate multiple business locations, or if you prefer not to conduct a test transaction, you must manually compile your location data. If opting for a manual submission, gather the following metrics to provide to Afterpay (steps to gather this information can be found at the bottom of this article) |

How to find Scheme name: The statement descriptor for your Stripe account.
- Log in to Stripe.
- Go to Settings (cog icon top right) → Business → Business Details.
- Copy Statement Descriptor.

How to find the Acquirer MID: Your Stripe account ID.
- Log in to Stripe.
- Go to Settings (cog icon top right) → Business → Account Details.
- Copy Account ID.

Please note that QR code- based payment methods are not available for Afterpay/Clearpay on Terminal.
