Set up Surcharges in ShortcutsPay to pass on merchant fees to your clients - Optional (Stripe).

Dependant on your local laws/regulations in your area, you may be able to pass on payment processing fees to your clients by applying a surcharge to ShortcutsPay transaction. 

Step 1: Setup the Sundry item:

  • In Shortcuts, go to Configuration → Sales → Sundry Income.
  • Click New and enter a Description for the surcharge (for example: Card surcharge).

  • In the Sundry Type dropdown list, select Payment Type Surcharge.
  • Enter the relevant value into Percentage of sale surcharge (e.g. 1.5%).
  • Click Save, then click Done.

Step 2. Link the surcharge to EFT Card Payment Type. 

Note: You only have to link surcharges to the EFT Card payment type. All other card types (Visa and Mastercard)  will apply the surcharge when this surcharge has been linked. 

  • Go to Configuration → Sales → Payment Types.
  • Select EFT Card from the Payment Name dropdown list.
  • Select Card surcharge from the Surcharge dropdown list.
  • Click Save, then click Done.

Once configured, the card surcharge will automatically be applied to EFT card payments processed through ShortcutsPay.
 
NOTE!!! Businesses must ensure any surcharge applied complies with local surcharging regulations, including not exceeding the cost of acceptance for the payment method.
