Process a MOTO transaction on a ShortcutsPay terminal.

A MOTO transaction allows you to manually enter a customer's card details when the card is not physically present. This is particularly useful for taking payments over the phone. 

Step 1: In the Point of Sale screen, select Card as the payment type.

 

Step 2: The Process Card Payment screen will appear. Select the MOTO checkbox

 

Step 3: Select Process

 

Step 4: Enter the Card Number on the terminal

 

Step 5: Enter the cardholder's post code.

 

Step 6: Enter the Expiry Date (MM/YY).

 

Step 7: Enter the CVV/CVC (3 or 4-digit security code from the card).

 

Step 8: Processing

The terminal will securely process the transaction.

 

Step 10: Verify the transaction was approved. 

The terminal will display the transaction result.

  • Approved – The payment has been successfully processed.
  • Declined – The transaction was unsuccessful. Verify the card details and try again if appropriate.

 Important: Always obtain the customer's permission before processing a MOTO transaction. Ensure card details are handled securely in accordance with local laws and business practices.
