How to do a Manual (MOTO) Transaction on my ShortcutsPay Terminal

A MOTO transaction allows you to manually enter a customer's card details when the card is not physically present.

Step 1: Select Card Payment Type

From the Point of Sale screen, select Card as the payment type.

Step 2: The Process Card Payment screen will appear. 

 

Step 3: Tick MOTO

Select the MOTO checkbox to indicate that the card is not present.

Step 4: Select Process

Tap Process to begin the transaction.

Step 5: Enter the Card Number

Carefully enter the customer's card number.

Step 6: Enter the Postal Code

Enter the cardholder's billing postal code.

Step 7: Enter the Expiry Date

Enter the card's expiry date (MM/YY).

Step 8: Enter the CVV/CVC

Enter the 3 or 4-digit security code from the card.

Step 9: Processing

The terminal will securely process the transaction.

Step 10: Wait for Approval

The terminal will display the transaction result.

  • Approved – The payment has been successfully processed.
  • Declined – The transaction was unsuccessful. Verify the card details and try again if appropriate.

 Important: Always obtain the customer's permission before processing a MOTO transaction and ensure card details are handled securely in accordance with your business's payment security requirements.
